My 1st Quilt

This is my first attempt at making a quilt.  It was a panel, and I made it for my BFF.  The only part that I did not do on my own was the very outer edge..I tried numerous times..and then gave up :(
Thank god for Mrs. Gurski...she finished it for me.  I have yet to send it!  I feel guilty just looking at it....could be that I'm so proud of the darn thing I hate to part with it ;)

  1. Nice work! Quilting is no easy feat... lots of time invested in each one, so I'm not surprised you're a little reluctant to send it!

Kay Lam is Margaret's daughter in law, and does some inspiring work. Really mind blowing Art Quilts. It's pretty interesting to see the directions you can take quilting in

If we ever settle down, I've got quilt plans I've been sitting on for years, ever since I took that stained glass class many moons ago in Halifax.

I'm sure your BFF will love it, and it will give you an excuse to start another :D

  3. Congrats on finishing your first quilt. Great job! I make the occasional quilt. A friend of mind always says "A finished quilt is a useful quilt!". Have fun with your blog! #271 following from Stampin' Connection.

  4. Beautiful quilt. I know how much time it takes to do one. I have done some quilting before I got into stamping. Don't blame you for holding on to it for a bit.

  5. You did a great job on your inner and outer borders for a first timer! The seam binding is always the hardest. I've made a few quilts in my time and I've only given them to those I adore because there is so much involved. Its so hard to part with them. I can totally sympathise! It looks just awesome! I'm following you from SC! I'm #1 on list A. I haven't updated the thread yet, but will tomorrow. Stop on by sometime!
